First attempt to get a nicer CNC microscope running. Where as the first one cannibalized my CNC mill stages, this has dedicated precision Micro-controle / Klinger stages. Instead of the stock variable reluctance motors they are driven by (slightly but not appreciably mismatched) NMB NEMA 17 motors. The microscope body I believe to be a higher end Mitutoyo toolmaker's microscope which mostly incorporates Olympus BH-2 parts. The test is using a Olympus NeoSPlan 50X ULWD objective on an Intel 82389 . The top stage is a Newport 39 which I'd eventually like to use to level samples. Camera is an AmScope MD1800. Although the proof of concept is running on Windows and Linux the Linux side is pyserial which should run fine on Windows. I don't have a camera driver working yet on Linux but I'd prefer to move everything to Linux if possible. The two power supplies allow me to monitor each motor's current draw.
